Top 5 Fitness Apps For Your Fitness Journey
I am the app queen. Let me just let you know that now. I am always on top of the hottest and trendiest apps that there are for fitness. I love being able to make life more convenient by using various apps. I’m writing this post today to let you in on my little app secrets. *shush*
Here are my top 5 favorite fitness apps for getting sh*t done!
5. Plant Nanny
Now if you’ve read my other posts such as 3 ways to lose weight, How I lost 8 pounds, and Lose weight when you’re broke, you know that I’ve talked about plant nanny before. This app is one of my top favorite fitness apps that there is on the market. I’m a video game lover and love making anything into something fun that will also motivate me to work hard.
In plant nanny, you plant a plant and choose a pot that will compliment your cute plant. Then you choose the type of water container that you will be drinking from with the right amount of mL or oz. Every single time you drink from your water bottle, you go onto the app and “water your plant.” Let me tell you, don’t take this app lightly. If you don’t water your plant, it. will. die. [Story Time] There was this plant I had *sniffles* his name was Gerald. I loved him so much and was working on him for 4 weeks straight! Then my family took a beach vacation and forgot all about poor Gerald. I logged back in and Gerald….Gerald….HE WAS GONE! He was all shriveled up.
If you plant a plant, make sure you’re going to take care of it, because it will grow beautifully if you do! This app is free in the app store and Google play store, but if you want to buy different pots for your plant, those cost a few bucks!
My mom has been trying to get me into meditation for what seems like forever. I have been trying to practice the art of mindfulness by starting with a beginner meditation app such as Headspace. A lot of well-known athletes use Headspace before games and matches and it’s a very popular app. They have different types of meditations for all known ailments such as anxiety, depression, sleep, and relaxation.
I have been trying to learn how to meditate for ages. It really is a learned practice and you have to truly start slow if you want to receive any true benefits. In Headspace, you begin with their 10-day beginner trial course and that helps you start your journey to meditation guru. It’s free in the app store or Google play store, but if you want to purchase more specific meditation packs those cost a few bucks.
3. My Fitness Pal
OMG… I love this dang app. I have been using My Fitness Pal for about 5 years now. Yes, ladies, 5 years! I am a big believer that counting your calories will not only help you lose weight but it’ll help you lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar intake. This app is great for all of those things!
You can friend other people on there which will help you keep yourself motivated. The basis of My Fitness Pal is to log your calories, subtract it from your activity and then you have your net calories left for the day. It has a really cool feature that at the end of the day it will show you how much you will weigh if you continue to eat the way you did that day. My Fitness Pal boasts that people who calorie count lose 4x as much weight as those who don’t! Get up on it ladies! My Fitness Pal is free in the app store and Google play store.
I am a big fan of walking outdoors rather than on the treadmill. I find that the treadmill is boring because you’re essentially just walking in place for a period of time. Not my thing. So when I’m doing my daily mile, I’ll usually walk Rufus (my schnauzer) around the mountain or walk in the park. Runkeeper is a program that I use myself, but I also use for my volleyball clients (I’m a full-time volleyball coach).
The premise of the app is to track your distance, speed, and time of your walk and it even GPS locates where you did walk. When you’re done with your walk you can send it to twitter or facebook to let all your peeps know about how awesome you are getting your fitness on. This also has an interface system that lets you friend others and see how their walks are going! Download it guys! It’s free in the Google Play and Apple App Store.
1. FIT BIT!!!
Now I know that you have to have a Fitbit to use the Fitbit app but let me just say that you need to seriously think about investing in one. Love my Fitbit so very much and would not trade it for the world. Started using Fitbits in 2015 when I bought my very first Fitbit Flex. I was so excited because it was the first thing that I bought myself with my own money, and wanted something that is more reliable that a pedometer and something that can help me track my steps.
What I didn’t know about Fitbit was that you can friend others and race throughout the week. It’s probably my favorite feature next to being able to track your sleep! The best thing is to be able to sleep and to see when I sleep too much or little is very convenient for me! It’s a great app and purchase to make! The Fitbit app comes with the Fitbit on the Google play or App store.
What did you think? Do you like using fitness apps to get your fit on? I know that I do! Make sure to comment below your favorite fitness app that you like to use on the regular! Peace and Love ♡
